This is a 12 tube “all wave” (3 bands: AM, SW & Police) superheterodyne console with a “rainbow” dial. It features push-pull beam power output, bass boost, a copper plated chassis and a tuning eye.
"America's Oldest Radio Manufacturer" was their advertising slogan. Early schematics show the The Howard Radio Company in South Haven, MI. and after 1935 the factory is shown in Chicago.
Howard built radios for the Cable Nelson company as well as ham radios for Sears (Silvertone) and Hallicrafters.
The last radio that I could locate is dated 1948? There appears to be a connection with Muntz TV (1950-1959).
